Trapeze Artist of the Moon
“You are in the dark because you are trying too much” – Aldous Huxley
Olden song whispers
in my ear
Able to echo
over the dark milieu
Faint copy of the prudish light
carved in black and blue curlicue
Remotely feeding
the smallness of the evening
The grafter of the moon
loves as if
Love is green silk,
translucent mud
And confession
of slow springs
The whole world
sings in a lily-of-the-valley
Whose tongue is numbed
by the language of the night…
Spoken beauty is never true
It is the paleness of a memory
enlivened
in the protection
of the saffron mornings
Aided by ghosts,
cinders of fear
and abysses
found
While we walk
in ourselves…
The silvery evening
is an intensity
and an immensity.
You live as if
life is a dance
We’d live as if
life is a kiss
from flickering flames
mauve twilights
and festering wishes.
Tentative frosts
cover the shoots
of your dreams
with ice…
We are the masters
of two small islands:
One of carton trees
and hollowed plastic flowers
and One
where the moon lives.
In her eyes
the thawing vernal lights
Endure…

All roads lead to Rome

All roads lead to Rome
and poetry
– Delmore Schwartz
and poetry
– Delmore Schwartz
All words lead to Love
And the poetry in the afterLove
And the poetry in the afterLove
I wish I wrote poems
For the dreamers of barren lands.
They do not go to Rome
They go to places
That cannot be.
For the dreamers of barren lands.
They do not go to Rome
They go to places
That cannot be.
Maybe love is a colorless, odorless
shapeless haze
We see through
with the eyes of
the bricked sky,
pathless oceans
walled shrubberies
streeted lunarian trails
breathing and tingling
scents
In the perfect nightmare
of flowers…
Vines reward our sun
with the sweetness
of grapes
wedded in perpetuity with
the linear shades of amber.

From the Good Place
Where joy is an illumination
To the Place that Cannot Be
They would have worn
The silver claw
of the Moon
above their heads
nightly
daily
musingly
vibrantly….

Song of Spring
Spring is a princess
without voice
only fingers
to mix colors
in the rainbows.
without voice
only fingers
to mix colors
in the rainbows.
She’s got a vessel
for the softest fragrance
pressed in archives
in the Library of Scent…
There are plums
the cherries
and the blooms of vines
escalating
on the earth’s shelves…
for the softest fragrance
pressed in archives
in the Library of Scent…
There are plums
the cherries
and the blooms of vines
escalating
on the earth’s shelves…
Anyone who writes down
to Spring
is simply wasting
a leaf of scent.
to Spring
is simply wasting
a leaf of scent.
No one is ever so poor
as not to write up
music
to all the shades of Spring
and to the dancing stars
to give a gift
of chaos…
as not to write up
music
to all the shades of Spring
and to the dancing stars
to give a gift
of chaos…

Morning Mist - written for the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective
Morning Mist – Iulia Halatz – for the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective
The mist that
covers my heart
is thick
numbing mornings
and evenings
with the sagacity
of a cubist artifact.
It comes in layers
clinging with fetid fingers
on to the gargoyles
of the old mansion
our love has become…

What can I give you?
PROUD TO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO ALIVE WORDS THAT CREATE A WORLD WITHOUT MAPS:
What can I
give you? I am the blue
as imagined
by a blind
and the
roots of knowledge
as watered
by a scholar.
I am the
yellow
wind and the
mauve
respond of
light
perched
in the
ubiquitous trees
tethered in
the clouds
that barely
scratch
the sky.
I am the
green
storm and
colorless waves
that wished
upon a mountain
to break
water in tryst
with the
sun.
Not by
blindness
we can
reorder colors
but by the
painting of a soul
in a moment
tender
as the
liquid moon
is quivering
above the forest.

https://www.amazon.com/Anthology-Writings-Denouement-Literary-Collective
Anthology Volume I: Writings from the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective is a thoughtfully curated compendium of the best writing published online by the Sudden Denouement Literary Collective from its launch in August of 2016 through April 2018. It includes 138 pieces of cutting-edge poetry, prose and short fiction written by 29 diverse writers from England, Romania, Japan, India, Finland, the United States and Canada. Thirty-one of the 138 pieces were written exclusively for the Sudden Denouement.
"If your expectation is a slim volume of precise poems according to a clever little theme, you’ll be deeply disappointed by SD’s offering. Poetry at SD isn’t nice and tidy, it isn’t precise or easily categorized, nor does it intend to leave you peaceful.
As Iulia Halatz says in her poem What Can I Give You? “Not by blindness / we can reorder colors / but by the painting of a soul.”
There is absolutely nothing here that is calm or apologetic, nor will any writer be careful with your sensibilities and spare you the brunt of their truth." - Candice Louisa Daquin

A Very Happy New Year!!
There are many traditions in Romania, unfortunately we can find them or of them in books, not in our lives.
One of the most interesting traditions is the fight in Ruginoasa, a village in the Iasi county.
On the 31st of December, usually at the crack of dawn, two groups of men armed with very long clubs start fighting or better say hitting at one another rather viciously. After the fight, the men go to the local pub to celebrate. The two parties fight because one party represents the people downhill and the other the people uphill and also because this is in their tradition for as long as they can remember.
In the old days, the villagers used mostly whips and harmless weapons, because this was more like a symbolical battle, the battle between the Old Year and the New Year. They also made noises in order to scare away the Old Year. People used to wear animal furs and very beautiful costumes.
Unfortunately, nowadays this fight has become rather violent due to loss of the old tradition of an allegorical fight and the appearance of the new tradition of a real life battle. That is why it was cancelled by the authorities last year.
The Anglo-Saxon tradition that I love is the First-footing. On the 31st December, after midnight, young men start wandering from house to house. The tradition says that you will have a very good year if the first man to enter your house, or the first-foot, is a tall dark man. The first-foot has the right to kiss the girl who answers the door. For the sake of a good prank, a crone (old ugly woman) is sometimes sent to welcome the first-footers and expect a kiss at the door.
A Very Happy New Year to all!

Yule / Winter Solstice
Being born on one of the longest days of the year, I am restless and gloomy till the winter solstice, but celebrating midwinter and the longest night…
On the 22nd of December, Yule had been celebrated, marking the winter solstice. This represents the depth of winter and for some this is the time of death and also of birth, for at this point the Sun begins to make the return journey and the days begin to lengthen.
All Christmas customs celebrate the return of light in some way and the advent (the coming) of the Magical Child. Many religions mark the birth of a divine child, at some point. That is why it is often said that Christmas is a ‘time for children’ and children are showered with gifts.
Evergreen trees are sacred for they retain their greenery all year around, as opposed to deciduous trees, whose leaves die. Almost everyone has a Christmas tree, decorated with brilliant baubles and ornaments that catch the light and seem to conjure the return of the sun. Some decorate their houses with holly and mistletoe. It is said that mistletoe is sacred to the Sun but also to the Moon, because the berries are moon-white. It is a beautiful way of Christmas to kiss beneath the mistletoe for fertility and happiness.
The Sun enters Capricorn, Earth sign of the goat. The goat is a great climber, and the Sun now climbs in the sky. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn: although known for discipline, there is another side to Capricorn that is lusty, playful and wild.
Most times all Christian celebrations retain a little from a heathen past, because in the old times the transition toward Christianity had been swifter on condition the well known patterns of pagan ways were preserved.
